Who the Heck is Hilary Noskin? Meet newest panelist on Ask the Experts

Ask the Experts panelist Hilary Noskin

Hello to you blog readers!

I am blessed and honored to be a part of the illustrious Ask The Experts group at Sage magazine.

So, who the heck am I and what will I be blogging about?

I am a 13th generation Latina native New Mexican experienced in environmental science and regulations, government relations and business practices in New Mexico. I am a registered patent attorney and a member of the New Mexico Bar, New York Bar and the District of Columbia bar. I am transitioning from the intellectual property firm I worked at for nine years. I have a bachelor of arts degree in biology from the University of San Diego, a master of science degree in biological sciences with an emphasis in environmental sciences from the New Mexico Highlands University, a doctorate in environmental biology from the University of New Mexico and a law degree from the University of New Mexico Law School. My dissertation work focused on the use of bacteria for bioremediation of toxic waste sites.

Prior to becoming an attorney, I worked as an environmental scientist for the Idaho National Engineering Laboratory and Los Alamos National Laboratory. I was also the corporate Director of Government Affairs for Giant Industries Inc. I served on the New Mexico Environmental Improvement Board, and I am active in community boards and programs, including Albuquerque Hispano Chamber, New Mexico Women’s Forum, Keshet Dance Company, New Mexico State Bar and as an Honorary Commander for Kirtland Air Force Base-Directed Energy Unit.

I am also an entrepreneur – or I am working on being one! I am currently at the helm of AfterMath Education, and we will be having AfterMath Camps this June and July. Please see the website aftermathcamp.com.

I love living in Albuquerque and being from New Mexico. No matter where I go, I am always glad to return! I have an eclectic taste in books, movies and music. I really enjoy Lobo basketball and heading to Elephant Butte Lake with my family. My dad was a dentist, and my mom has been a pioneer in many areas. I still rely on their voices in my head.

My blog will cover AfterMath Education and educational issues, business and intellectual property. I will do my best to answer your questions. Thanks again for this opportunity. I am looking forward to getting to know you over the blogosphere.
